Our Quilt in New Quilting Book

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Patchwork Comforters, Throws and Quilts published by House of White Birches has just been released with one of our quilts!

Our contribution to the book’s collection is Oak Lodge made from homespun fabrics, with a beginner skill level. Doreen Clink, from Caro, machine quilted Oak Lodge. I designed the quilting motif in the plain blocks which is included in the book.

Didn’t they take a wonderful photo? The book is full of gorgeous quilts-most of them in beginner skill levels. Baby quilts, pieced, appliquéd, new classics, quilts using precut fabrics such as layer cakes and jelly rolls-a wonderful assortment. Jeanne Stauffer and Sandra L. Hatch, the editors, have published another wonderful book!

Beads on a String-throw size

Beads on a String-throw size

Would you like to bust your stash? Here’s our newest pattern that will use your scraps, fat quarters or yardage-whatever you have that will make these beautiful two toned beads. AND it is a beginner skill level so that a young girl will supervision could make this her own project!

Beads on a String comes with throw and twin sizes included in the pattern. The string bead block and outer border can be strip pieced and went together in no time. Because my stash has many little pieces I cut out individual rectangles for the border-the pattern tells you how many to cut for each size if you want to do it that way too.

Wouldn’t it look great with a black background? Or even try it with oriental prints for a china bead quilt. Here’s the link to the catalog:

You will find it in the pieced and children’s designs groups.

Merry Christmas to you and yours,

Rochelle
